Coroner: St. Tammany Parish inmate died from by accident ‘falling from higher bunk’ in cell

A coroner has concluded that 39-year-old Jacorey Clark’s dying was unintended, saying Clark fell from the higher bunkbed in his jail dormitory.


An inmate on the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Facility was transported to a neighborhood hospital Tuesday after police stated he suffered from an unknown medical situation. Jacorey Clark, 39, was pronounced useless after being handled on the hospital. A coroner concluded Thursday that Clark’s explanation for dying was unintended.The coroner stated Clark “died of injuries to his skull and neck after falling from his upper bunk in the jail dormitory, based on autopsy results and video from the St. Tammany Parish Jail.”
