Gold Coast: The first T20 International between the Indian girls’s cricket workforce and Australia was deserted on account of heavy rain at Gold Coast on Thursday. Invited to bat, India have been 131/4 in 15.2 overs when rain disrupted the proceedings, resulting in the match being finally known as off.
Jemimah Rodrigues was not out on 49 and giving her firm was Richa Ghosh (17 not out). Both sides bought one level every from the deserted match.
Tahlia McGrath and Hannah Darlington have been making their T20I debuts for Australia. For India, Renuka Singh was handed a debut whereas it was a maiden T20I look for Yastika Bhatia.
Before this, India drew the rain-affected day/evening Test towards the hosts following a 1-2 loss within the ODI sequence.
The second T20 International of the three-match sequence between the 2 sides is scheduled to be held on Saturday on the similar venue.
