Iowa farmers warn drivers to use caution on roads amid harvest season

BOONE COUNTY, Iowa (KCCI) – Iowa farmers are warning drivers to take warning on the roads as harvest season is underway.

There had been greater than 400 crashes involving a farm car during the last 5 years throughout harvest season, in keeping with the Iowa DOT.

Farmers say drivers want to observe for giant tools on the roads. The orange triangles on farm automobiles point out the car is slow-moving.

Bret Pierce, who runs a farm along with his father, says there’s a false impression surrounding a left-turn indicator.

He says the indicator doesn’t imply the driving force ought to cross a tractor.

“For somebody using a left turn signal, we’re not necessarily being Iowa nice at that point. We’re turning left, so you don’t want to pass us,” Pierce stated.

Farmers say security within the discipline and the highway is vital.
